Trying Out Sonific Widget

It’s been fun, looking up songs and all. The first playlist is titled “End of Feb, 2008” since today’s date is kinda cool: 28-02-2008. Enjoy!

1. Eleanor Rigby, Beatles String Tribute Ensemble
2. Blackbird, Beatles String Tribute Ensemble
3. Ravel: Jeux d’eau, Allison Lovejoy
4. Ravel: Assez vif, Tres rythme, Cypress String Quartet
5. Mozart: Concerto in D minor, KV 466 – Allegro
6. Libertango, <no idea on the musicians… and be prepared for the finale!>
7. Libertango, ViceVersa
8. Mozart: Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 23 in A Major KV 488 – Allegro
9. Bach:Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor BWV 1052: I Allegro, Mikhail Petukhov
10. Hey Jude, Jon Simon

The best of all is discovering other versions of Piazzolla’s “Libertango”. There’s one string ensemble rendition of Libertango with cello on the lead that I found in dogpile. So far, I like Al Di Meola’s World Sinfonía III: The Grande Passion and Yo-Yo Ma’s Soul of Tango – The Music of Astor Piazzolla versions best. But I didn’t find them in Sonific so….

I was looking for the 12 Cellists of The Berlin Philharmonic‘s “The Beatles in Classics”, but Sonific doesn’t have it. Too bad, the Sting Tribute Ensemble to The Beatles doesn’t include “Hey Jude”, so I picked Jon Simon’s.

And the rests, Mozart concertos, Bach, and Ravel pieces, are some of my faves. I was looking for Jacques Loussier Trio’s version of Mozart concertos though, but found none. Not that I’m complaining. The “original” version is forever divine.

Once again, enjoy!
